Classification of galvanizing
Galvanizing can be divided into two processes: hot-dip galvanizing and cold-dip galvanizing. In fact, the composition of these two galvanized sheets is basically the same, but cold-dip galvanized sheets are thinner than hot-dip galvanized sheets, with better surface quality and more complicated processes. Of course, the price will be higher. The following are the main differences between the two processing methods.
1) The so-called hot-dip galvanizing is a process in which surface-treated steel or cast iron parts are immersed in high-temperature molten zinc liquid to form zinc and zinc-iron alloy coatings on their surfaces. This process is relatively simple and mainly changes its properties through physical effects.
The main materials used in our mechanical and electrical engineering are generally hot-dip galvanized sheets. The thickness of ST14 Galvanized Sheet is generally between 0.5 mm and 1.5 mm. In mechanical and electrical engineering, ST14 Galvanized Sheet uses hot-dip galvanizing technology, which is mainly used to make ventilation and smoke exhaust ducts, and the market demand is very large. In addition, hot-dip galvanized products are also widely used, and can also be used in transportation, construction, communications, electricity, energy, automobiles, petrochemicals, home appliances and other industries. Of course, there are differences in galvanizing with and without galvanizing. This is just a difference in the process that causes the coating to have different crystal images on the surface, which does not affect its performance.
2) Cold plating is different from hot plating, and it is also called electroplating. It mainly uses chemical reactions to change its properties. Under certain conditions, the metal will undergo a replacement reaction, and the metal elements on the metal surface will be replaced by zinc through chemical reactions to form a coating. Under normal circumstances, the thickness of the zinc layer does not exceed 10 microns.
ST14 Galvanized Sheet's high temperature resistance
Galvanized sheet has good antioxidant properties at high temperatures. Zinc has a low melting point and melts first during the heating process. It can cover the surface of the steel sheet to form a protective layer to prevent further oxidation and corrosion of the steel. However, even galvanized sheets are affected by high temperatures. At high temperatures, zinc reacts with iron to release zinc vapor, resulting in the loss of the galvanized layer and structural changes, thereby reducing the anti-corrosion ability and service life. Therefore, when using ST14 Galvanized Sheet, we must be careful not to expose it to high temperature for a long time, so as not to greatly reduce its performance.
Protection method of ST14 Galvanized Sheet
1. Control the use temperature. The maximum use temperature of galvanized sheet is generally around 230°0. Exceeding this temperature will damage the zinc layer. Therefore, the use temperature should be controlled to avoid using galvanized sheet in high temperature environment to avoid affecting its anti-corrosion performance and service life.
2. Prevent scratches. The galvanized layer is easily damaged by scratches. Therefore, when storing and using galvanized sheet, care should be taken to avoid collision and scratches with heavy objects, and never use hard objects to scratch the surface.
3. Regular maintenance. Regular maintenance of galvanized sheet, such as cleaning, anti-corrosion and other measures can ensure its good performance and durability.
